A few days ago I decided to create a new Blood Elf character. Dreading the long grind to the higher levels, I invested some money in the Horde  version of the Zygor Guides. I wanted to see if the hype was true and I could level faster with the guide. Here are my impressions from the first couple of days of using Zygor.

Some History

I hadn’t found previous leveling guides to be of much use. As much as anything else, that’s because of the way you had to keep jumping in and out of the game to consult the guide. It was a major headache. Eventually, I set up a second computer. I played the game on one and read the guide on the other. Not only was it a pain in the neck, but it disrupted the flow and pulled my head out of the game world whenever I had to consult the guide.

Why Zygor Guides are Better

My Zygor Horde Guide works within the game. What does that mean? It means that the guide information appears in a window right inside the game. The information is much more accessible, and you can stay “in” the game, which makes the whole experience much smoother and more fun.

You’re also in control of the amount of information the guide gives you. You can close the Zygor Guide window completely if you just want to focus on playing. You can have a small window with the minimal amount of information, just enough to let you know what your next objective is. If you want even more information, you can switch to a large window that displays all the details about your current leveling activity.

Another feature I love is the distance and direction arrow. This puppy always points to the next objective, and updates in real time so I always know where I need to be heading. It’s a great time saver, particularly once you have a flyer and can go directly toward your objective. With my Zygor Horde Guide, I get everything I need to blast through the levels super fast, without ever looking away from the game.

Does This Thing Actually Get You Through the Levels Faster?

All that’s cool, but you’re probably wondering if the Zygor Leveling Guide accomplishes its mission of helping you level super fast. Well, when I was ready to test the guide for the first time, my brother offered to escort me with one of his characters that was several levels higher than mine. I told him what I was doing & that I would do this session on my own, following the advice in Zygor. We both started playing, and he checked in on me a few hours later. His reaction says all you need to know about how well these guides work. His first comment was, “Hey! How the #3$%^& did your guy get so big so fast? Can my guy come with yours next time?”
