Travel to one of the large cities in order to find a Herbalism trainer. If you do need some help locating one just ask a guard. Alchemy trainers are often close to Herbalism trainer so think about training for both at the same time.

To become a Master you’ll need a trainer from Hellfire Peninsula. I won’t get into Grand Master level in this WoW Herbalism guide, but they involve the upper levels of 375-450. But I will mention that Alliance faction can train in either Valgarde or Valiance Keep. Horde characters can find a trainer in Vengeance Landing also in Howling Fjord.

The great thing is that once you’ve gotten training you won’t need anything else, other than a bag with lots of space to carry things you gather. You can have a special Herbalism bag made for you by a tailor. Keep your eyes open because herbs and plants can be found just about anywhere including under water. Don’t worry about getting too many herbs since you can alway sell them in the Auction House. With the “Find Herb” ability, the plants that you can pick will be marked as yellow dots on your map.

Once you walk up to a herb and the cursor becomes active its ready to be gathered. If it’s not possible to pick a plant, chances are that it’s currently beyond your skill level. The plants that require higher skill level tend to be in higher zones. Other than being able to find herbs anywhere you can get them by completing instances, killing monsters and even treasure chests.

An important thing to know is how the color codes of the herbs will affect your skill level. Hovering the mouse over a herb will indicate its color code, check the list below for their meaning.

• Red- You don’t have the needed skill level to pick it yet.
• Orange- These will probably help your skill level.
• Yellw- These only have a moderate chance to help you, but you should still pick them.
• Green- Low Chance of increasing your skill.
• Gray- No chance what so ever of giving you more skill.

As you level to 450, which is beyond this WoW Herbalism guide, you’ll gain “Lifeblood”, which will give you the ability to heal yourself by absorbing energy and nutrients from the Earth.
