Online Games – Now More Popular Than Ever Before
Simply saying that online gaming has become popular is a massive understatement. Since its introduction around a decade ago, year on year it has attracted more and more people, and there are no signs of the growth slowing. It’s not just the number of gamers that has been increasing either, it’s the number of games and gaming websites too. Type ‘online games’ into Google and you’ll see that there are more than 200 million results!
So, why is online gaming becoming increasing popular? Well, you can put it down to a few things. One is better technology, another is improved graphics, and a third is increased interactability.
It seems like a lifetime ago now that Pong, Pac-Man and Frogger were the leading lights of the gaming world, but in actual fact it was just a decade or two ago. In the world of technology though, that is more than a lifetime, it’s an entirely different era! It’s not that games programmers didn’t have ideas for the types of games that we enjoy playing now, it was rather that they had no way of implementing their ideas. The coding languages that form the basis of current games simply didn’t exist in the past, and the processors in computers just not fast enough to process anything more than simple commands. Now though, technology and programming languages are at a level whereby the imagination is the only limitation, and this has shown itself in the great games that are consistently released.
In terms of graphics, as with technology (and yes the two are related), monumental steps have been made. Though you can have good games with poor graphics, it’s hard to argue against the point that graphics really add to the overall experience of gaming. Long gone are the days of watching slow, dull blotches jerk across the screen. Such graphics would not be tolerated by gamers in current times. We now expect top notch graphics that resemble movies, and that’s what we get! Whereas before non-gamers would wonder why we would spend hours watching an uninspiring screen, they’re now drawn in by the life-like graphics and want to experience them themselves.
Everyone knows that great graphics don’t always equate to a great game though. The criteria for a great game is that it is interactive and rewarding, and this is where online games have really come into their own. Playing online against real people is, for the vast majority of people, far superior to just playing against a computer. Before, Internet connections were just too slow to allow gamers to properly compete against each other online, but now you can compete simultaneously against 20+ people from around the world with no problems at all. This has greatly extended the amount of time that you can play a game before getting bored of it, and literally every time that you play a game you don’t know what to expect.
So, what does the future hold for online gaming? You can be sure that all of the points mentioned above will only continue to improve and, as such, the gaming industry as a whole will continue to grow and bring in more and more gamers, which can only be a good thing for those of us already hooked on the world of online gaming.

Online Games : How Flash And Java Script Changed The World
Most online games are written in computer languages that can be understood and processed by a range of different computer platforms. This makes it easier for many people to enjoy the same game regardless of the type of computer that they are using to access it. Consequently, you find, for example, that a Macintosh user will have a very similar experience on a game as a Windows based user, and the online gaming community is brought much closer, as hardware and software barriers are removed.
The ability to have the same online gaming experience, regardless of the computer hardware that you have, has been made possible through the creation and continued development of Flash and Java Script – which are both programming languages. As these two languages began to get recognition, more and more games began to be made using them, with the result being that gamers were demanding that any new computer they bought had the capabilities to play them.
For years Macintosh and PC users were effectively separate camps, and they are still are to some people, but the advent of universal programming languages bought gamers on these two platforms together. Not only could they play and compete against each other, but they could do so on a level playing field as everyone, regardless of what type of computer they were using, was seeing and hearing the game in pretty much the same way.
It is no understatement to say that online gaming, and the Internet as a whole, took a massive step forward as a consequence of those two computing languages. Not only was the gaming world bought closer together, but people really began to sit up and take notice as to what possibilities the Internet held. It was no longer just a method of retrieving and sharing data, it was now becoming more of a multi-media type experience.
Since then, all online gamers have continued to feel the benefits. Online games these days are far above and beyond what could have been imagined a decade ago. With better technology, faster Internet connections, and better programming and coding, gamers these days can play games with movie like graphics against 20+ players simultaneously.
Such improvements within the industry have unsurprisingly led to an influx of new people to the world of online gaming – which means the market is bigger, there is more money available, and, as a result, game producers create bigger and better games in order to gain a bigger share of it. The result? Even better times for gamers everywhere!

Get This Console
Sales
If you are basing it on sales alone then it has to be the Wii that gets the prize. However from my opinion (a person who has owned all of the Nintendo Consoles) this has been the worse console that Nintendo have ever made. So why is this?
The major reason why is simply because they do not give a damn about all of the past fans that made them money before the Wii, the majority of new games are aimed at idiots and Nintendo fans rarely see the light of day. Mario Kart Wii was at best disappointing as they seemed to take out everything that made Double Dash good. In all my time of playing Mario they have never used the same idea twice, what on earth is Mario Galaxy 2 all about?.
So as you can see the Wii is out of it.
Online and other
The PS3 is a good console there is no doubt about that and games such as uncharted 2 show just how far the console can go. However, online, although free, is slow, poor and features many people who cannot even speak English within it. Okay, but why not add some language barriers like Microsoft? The PS3 has Blu-Ray but it seems that is the only decent thing it has going for it.
The 360 has the best games, the best experience when playing and a really good online community. So my recommendation to you is not to get a Wii for the family as it will only be played once. 360 or a PS3 is the way forward.
To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.
Golfing On the Consoles
Tiger Woods has all the glory when it comes to golf on computer games but are there other alternatives and if so, are they actually any good~Although of course Tiger Woods seems to have most of the market when it comes to the golfing games there are alternatives out there it just the question is, are they any good~Although there are many other games out there it would seem that Tiger Woods is the key one in the community however what are the others like}?
Tiger Woods
Although I am not really talking about this game in great detail it deserves a mention simply because it has to be the best golf game there is out on the market at the moment. The main reason for this isn’t because Tiger Woods is on the front of it but because the PGA tour features within the game itself. This means that you not only get to play as worlds no.1 but you are able to play as some other famous golfers too. This is the game for the real golf fans who actually play golf.
Wii Sports
Okay so it doesn’t really compare to Tiger Woods when it comes to the graphics but when it comes to game play it is actually quite a fun game. There is of course an added bonus to having this game and that is that if you get a bit bored with the golf you can switch over to one of the other sports that are available.
Super Swing Golf
This is another game that cannot really be compared to Tiger Woods however it is a very fun game to play with the kids and some of the people in it are a bit crazy.
Mario Golf
A lot of these games have been released and they are my favourite outside of the Tiger Woods games because they add the best range of things to do. It is always fun to play as one of your favourite Mario characters which is another reason on why it is a good game.
I wonder if these golfers perhaps have golf trolley batteries . They would certainly need those 12v batteries to power some of their golf trolleys.
Online Games – Be Who You Want To Be!
Online gaming is massively popular. Why is that? Well, apart from being fun, it offers the chance to temporarily escape reality and enter a whole new world; a world where the restrictions and laws of our everyday normal lives can be totally left behind.
Online gaming has proven to be an avenue of escape for a lot of people who find the stresses of life tough to cope with. Whenever a person feels like their head is about to explode from stress, and they feel like lashing out at their boss or a co-worker, but they can’t and won’t due to the possible repercussions of such an outburst, fighting and killing in-game gives them a much needed release. They get to take out all their aggression on whoever they encounter in the game.
As well as relieving stress, online games also allow people to lose their inhibitions and shyness. They feel more at ease to say what they want to say and do what they want to do. The character that they become in a game acts like kind of shield from which they can operate from behind, it makes them feel empowered and strong. They can act how they want in the knowledge that they are 100% safe from harm, something which can’t be guaranteed in any other walk of life. It is this extra confidence, and the loss of fear of rejection, that results in the building of an online network of friends, who revel in communicating with like-minded people.
Living your fantasy can be pretty easy with these online games since you can choose who you want to be in the game. Fancy becoming a wand wielding magician? How about a sword and shield bearing knight? Care to cure others with your healing spells? All of these you can do when you play online games. You can create a single character to use all of the time, or have a range of ones that you choose from depending on your mood. The choice is yours to make and the fantasy is yours to live.
When you think about it, it’s actually of little surprise that these games are so popular – reality is pretty boring in comparison!

the best games console currently out there
This is an argument that has been in debate not just for this generation of games consoles but since the beginning. Is the best consoel going to be Wii, 360 or PS3?
Althought the sales of the wii seem to be doing very well it just isnt doing anything for me at all. The console itself does not seem to be the problem but the games. The games are being made by other companies to the general market at a very poor standard. This is not a bad idea but Nintendo don’t seem to be making any games for their fans anymore. Nintendo have also rather insultingly announced another Zelda DS game and Mario Galaxy 2 both of which seem to be almost complete copies of the previous edditions.
The PS3 is a good console for many reasons. Blu-Ray is one of the reasons it has become such a success as well as the HD gaming and free online play. Free is not always a positive thing. The whole online experience is very poor on the PS3. Compared to Gears of War and Halo the PS3 exclusives are not brilliant. The PS3 wand does seem to rip off the Wii.
The overall experience I recieve from the Xbox seems to be the best which is why it is number one on my list. The games are better the online service is paid for but I rarely see a laggy game. Xbox Live seems to recieve many more updates that actually do things of importance. Project Natal is sure to make sure that the Xbox 360 dominates this generation. At least Microsoft are tying to keep the fans happy.

How To Beat RPG Games Quick
Alright. Everyone knows it. You want to play Dungeons and Dragons, but that is simply a level of nerd that you do not need to reach. No offense to people who play it, since both groups will most likely like a flash RPG. It is basically a quicky version of the game that started the entire genus. The benefit is that these are free and generally much simpler than the absurdly open-ended forefather.
When playing an RPG game, you need to decide precisely how you need to play it and decide whether you are really up for it. Most flash RPGs rely heavily on repetition for some of the training aspects, and this can frustrate you too much to actually finish. A few of them lack a save option too, so take care you have about an hour or so to really finish it up. When you commit yourself, you just have to get yourself with the features of the game. You must decide what features you need and what really matters. It is sometimes valueless to have one strength and ten luck, for example. If you do not need to be a fighter than do not get strength, get intelligence or will or whatever your personality desires. Getting off to a good personality makes all the difference.
Now that you want to just explore. Do not too terrified of dying randomly. Most well built RPGs do not have ridiculous deaths to make the player irritated. You play flash games to have some jollies, not to hate your life and some random programmer one thousand miles away. When you know the lay of the land you can set some basic goals. Hunt or work to get money, so you can buy training for better stats, which let you get better equipment, which lets you get more money, which lets you get better training, etc. Get a game plan and a final goal. If you can, you should also find some good quests to add a little character to the game.
While you are leveling up, you need to also listen. New levels open up as time goes on and new things will be available. These can regularly change the game and make it even better. You definitely don’t want to lose something good. In the same way, you shouldn’t get too far ahead of yourself. Don’t over-commit yourself on quests with time boundaries you can’t meet and do not get before your character. If you have to fight, you do not want to pointlessly lose health in a fight you could not win.
Finally, don’t overplay the game. You do not need to have 999 points in each class. Some really open RPGs don’t have limits. This does not mean you must waste three hours making an attempt to max out your stats for no real reason. It may seem actually stupid, but these flash games can be extremely addicting after you really get started.
These are good tips that any new player to the role-playing genre should enjoy. Playing a flash RPG might be something else, but it should be plenty of fun for the flash game player who enjoys a rich world that offers something new.

When it Comes to Videogames, Go Indie and Thank Us Later
People say that the era of the smaller game publisher is finished. As games become a bigger and bigger market, leapfrogging things like the music industry, and selling a huge number of releases with each new big game, the industry has been moving towards a kind of blockbuster mentality.
Not Every Game Can Be Grand Theft Auto IV
To do over the incredible experiences and 40 hours worth of wonderful gameplay inside a game like Grand Theft Auto 4, entire buildings of hundreds of game designers are needed. Budgets are massive, and profits are expected to be big, too. While games like GTAIV are great, they constitute a strangely gigantic quantity of the market, just like Hollywood ‘event’ films do, and they normally pervert the rest of the industry in strange directions.
Films are a useful analogy here, because it is essentially the same thing: a good film is a memorable movie, regardless of budget, and the same goes for video games. There are dozens of indie top games out there that just don’t have a way into the relevant distribution methods. And how many bad films or bad games—from big companies—have you seen or bought in your life?
The Problem With the Blockbuster Mentality
One of the main issues with making videogames on the blockbuster model is that a vision of good, quality gameplay disappears under all the other must-do things that have to go into a major property—just like the plot of a huge Hollywood film can often be obscured under layers of other concerns. With a small development team, this doesn’t happen—it’s all about the video game, the richness of the experience—whether or not it’s fun to play, made well, and gives gamers a reason to come back is truly all that counts.
The fact is that just because it’s widely advertised in the store doesn’t automatically imply it’s quality. And so the issue becomes: how do we get to those independent titles, those medium game-makers doing great, tried-and-true titles that aren’t being advertised on the internet or endlessly chattered about?
Is There a Place for Indie Games Online?
The net is still the best destination. You can find companies selling independent games that are built on real values: like classic gameplay that keeps you coming back again and again. Not facing the huge budgets, official trademarks, and big development teams that the huge game publishers have, small publishers are releasing video games that don’t have the luxury of exciting you through flashy visuals alone: they need to be enjoyable to play above all else.
Although a select few big publishers have seen the light, and have started fostering small developers to go insane with their wildest notions, most of the top, small, enjoyable games are being released by developers you’ve never heard of before.
Classic Distribution Still Works
While the talk is about new distribution channels, the ones that are already working are still very much useful: many of the best, most under-regarded small films can still be found sitting at your neighborhood DVD shop, and many of the most fun, independent videogames can be located online, available to you at very low prices—you get all the benefits of a box, a booklet, something aesthetic to hold, but you aren’t shelling out insane prices.
Next time you’re hunting down a truly great game experience, don’t just hit the obvious spots. Remember that big companies release their fair share of expensive garbage, and that indie studio you’ve never heard of might have just published your next all-time favorite videogame.
